Classic Cars Transported to Los Angeles

2 American classic cars to be exhibited in the
L.A. Petersen Automotive Museum were transported

Normally, when transporting a completed car, its body is secured to the ULD by passing a lashing belt through the wheels. However, due to the shape of this time's classic car with its wheel holes being too narrow to put the belts through, it was not a case to sufficiently tie-down to resist the expected vibration/tilt/impact during the transport.

Hence, based on the information or the characteristics in regard to the cars provided by the customer, ANA's professional dedicated special cargo team, the "Professional Unit", conducted a thorough loading verification and by using towing hooks & special belts, the cars were managed to be fixed from outside of the tires.

On the day of the transport, upon the owner's attendance, the handling was smoothly and carefully completed.

Point ①
The car with gold body was securely lashed to the ULD by installing tie-down belts to the towing hooks & axle. Since the car height was low, handling was carefully performed so that the belts would not interfere with the car body.

Point ②
The tires were fixed to the ULD with a dedicated belt by wrapping around them. Also, to prevent damaging the wheels, cushioning material was applied to the part possibly to be contacted by the belt.

Point ③
Due to the total length of this time's classic car exceeding 5m, a size unload-able on a passenger aircraft, it was transported on ANA's freighter aircraft (Boeing 777-F).

Since the date of the exhibition of this time's classic cars in Los Angeles was fixed, any delays in transport were unacceptable, but owing to our Professional Unit's extensive experiences as well as utilizing the freighter network, safe & fastest transport could be realized.
