Please be advised the regulation on lithium batteries will modified following the issuance of Addendum I/II to IATA Dangerous Goods Regulation (DGR) 57th edition as follows;

1. Main point of the amendments

UN3480 Lithium ion batteries (Packing Instruction 965 Section IA and IB)

Lithium ion cells and batteries must be offered for transport at a state of charge not exceeding 30% of their rated design capacity.

⇒Please indicate that「no more than 30% state of charge」on the Shipper's Declaration for Dangerous Goods or the air waybill.
e.g.「Lithium ion batteries are at no more than 30% state of charge.」

UN3480 Lithium ion batteries (Packing Instruction 965 Section II)

Lithium ion cells and batteries must be offered for transport at a state of charge not exceeding 30% of their rated design capacity.

⇒Please indicate that「no more than 30% state of charge」on the Shipper's Declaration for Dangerous Goods or the air waybill.
e.g.「Lithium ion batteries are at no more than 30% state of charge.」

A shipper is not permitted to offer for transport more than (1) package prepared according to this section in any single consignment.

Not more than one (1) package may be placed in an overpack.

UN3090 Lithium metal batteries (Packing Instruction 968 Section II)

A shipper is not permitted to offer for transport more than (1) package prepared according to this section in any single consignment.

Not more than one (1) package may be placed in an overpack.

*We define the wording of 'consignment' to be Operator's Air Waybill in case of non-consolidated shipment, and to be House Air Waybill in case of consolidated shipment.
*Please note that total net quantity of lithium ion batteries (UN3480) and lithium metal batteries (UN3090) is no more than 600kg prepared according to these section in (1) package or (1) overpack.

2. Effective from
The departing flight of 01st April, 2016

We kindly ask for your confirmation that you necessarily check IATA DGR 57th and Addendum because the above amendments are not completely covered IATA DGR 57th Addendum.
